Radon

What is Radon?

Radon is a naturally occurring gas from the decay of Uranium in nearly all of Earth's soil, including the area of Alpharetta, Georgia. Radon is a Class A carcinogen that can cause lung cancer. According to the EPA, radon is estimated to cause approximately 21,000 lung cancer deaths per year in the U.S. and about 800 deaths per year in the state of Georgia.

How often should radon testing be done?

The EPA recommends performing a radon test every 2 years. Every type of building should be regularly inspected for radon, including homes, offices, and schools. The greatest exposure to you and your family is most likely at home where you spend a significant amount of your time.

How radon gas enters a house

Facts About Radon

Radon Is Undetectable to Human Senses

Radon is colorless, tasteless, and ordorless.

Radon Causes Lung Cancer

Symptoms are not immediate and extended exposure to Radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

Radon Is Everywhere

It is present indoors, outdoors, and in natural drinking water sources (well water)

Radon Mitigation Effectiveness

A Radon Mitigation system can reduce radon levels in your home by up to 99%.

RADON MITIGATION SYSTEM

A Radon Mitigation System is the most effective way to reduce radon levels in your home. The system is designed with a fan that draws radon from underneath the home via a suction pipe. The radon is then directed outside and above the home, where it is released.

Whether your home is on a concrete slab, basement, or a crawlspace, we design a radon mitigation system specific to the requirements of your home.
